Me again, If I powdercoat I don't have the gloss that you have.
Sandblasting to hard? I don't know.
More powder on, same result. It isn't bad. But not 100 % equal...
Maybe you can help me?
Where are u getting ur powder from Jon
@jonathan what kind of powder are you using? If its harbor freights that's a matte black. Try prismatic powders they have some bad ass colors. That's where I get mine from
I use electrostaticmagic.co.uk powders.
Ok I will buy prismatic powders for testing.
And with how much pressure are you sandblasting?
Is it a gloss or matte black? Send me the link. I blast with like 60psi that shouldn't make a difference in your shine. Also do u preheat your oven or just put it in till its built up to where u need it
here is a pic of chrome frame, but it is the same effect with al the other colors, it is good, but not 100 % smooth.
I put part in a hot oven and if the metal reach +- 180 C I add 10 min.
Looks good. What did u do sand blast then clean it? Sometimes sand gets caught in shit. What I do is sand blast it then blow it off and look in all the small areas for sand and spray it with brake cleaner. Where u doing it at? Sometimes dust will get in it and u can see the fibers in the finish.
Sandblasting -> degrease with (3M cleaner) -> 30 min in oven -> degrease and than powder coating.
And I blow also the dust out of the frame ...
@jonathan sounds good. Do you let the part cool before you spray it ?
Yes, cooling down. And for second coating on a hot part (65 Celcius)
I'd try another kind of powder. Sometimes ill spray it hot till it melts let it cool them do a full coat and let it cure. What were u powder coating over ?
your stuff looks really nice man!!!! I have a couple questions for you I am just starting out can you send me an email to jbuzbee77Aol.com
